Adoptions                                                                                             We reserve the right to deny adoption to anyone                                                          When we place an animal for adoption, we hope to find a home that will last a lifetime and create a loving bond between pet and owner.  You will be required to fill out an application that will enable us to find the right pet for you. We also visit your home to ensure that this will be a perfect fit for both you and the pet. We put a lot of love and time into our animals, and we strive to get the best home possible for them.  We apologize in advance if our final decision disappoints you.                                                                                     Why adopt from Mountains' Humane Society?                                                                 Our animals are already spayed/neutered, are current on vaccinations and have been tested for FLA virus (cats) and Heartworm (dogs).  We ask for a $85.00 donation for dogs and a $75 donation for cats which includes a free local Veterinarian office visit, a folder of valuable information about your pet, a DVD to help you and your new pet adjust, and a goodie bag of treats and toys. Our adoption donation is quite a bargain if you add up the costs of everything we include.                                                                    During the "good weather" months, we will be having adoption days throughout our mountain communities at which times most of our listed animals can be seen. Please refer to our adoption dates, locations and times on the Home page of this website, or call (909) 337-6422 for more info.

Puppies: Chloe (puppies momma) was brought to us 3 years ago. She had been hanging around the neighbors house for a few days. He brought her over to see if she was ours. After all the other neighbors refused to help with her, we decided to take her in. She was just a tiny girl who still had her baby teeth. She was bathed and groomed and her nails had been clipped. She was leash and potty trained and knew how to fetch. We felt she had been loved and it would be easy to find her owner. Unfortunately we never could. So she became part of our family. Last December while on one of her walks (it was early in the morning and still dark out so in my husbands defense, he was sleepy) Chloe found an admirer. He was a medium, black, long-haired Lab mix. On February 23rd, Chloe gave birth to 9 puppies. One did not live more than 2 days. Then in May, when we were away and my son was looking after our pets, Parvo swept though our home. Of the 8 puppies, 2 never came down with any symptoms, 3 didn't survive and 3 fought for their lives for almost 2 weeks and are now happy, bouncy and strong. Unfortunately we are being relocated to Washington in just a couple of weeks and cannot take the puppies with us. It breaks our hearts to have to give them up. We need (for our own sanity) to make sure they are placed in loving, life-long homes. They are ready for their new homes now; read about them below:

Puppy: Hammie was the first born. We called her Hammie as she looked like a hamster. She was the biggest of all of the puppies to follow. She was the first to walk. The first to wander away and the first to bark. She is curious about everything and everyone. She follows her brother Carl everywhere.
She is a Shepherd/Lab/Terrier mix, born Feb. 23rd. She is potty trained to newspaper/puppy pads. She gets along with other dogs, cats and kids. She is up to date on her shots and spayed. Please contact us at (909) 744-8153 or e-mail
poeticstargazer@aol.com if you are interested in Hammie. (6/26/08)

Puppy: Carl likes to talk. He wants to give his opinion on any subject. He is now the biggest of the litter but he was next to the smallest when he was born. He loves to climb and would be a wonderful companion to a hiker. Carl looks after his little sister Hammie. He is a Shepherd/Lab/Terrier mix, born Feb. 23rd. He is potty trained to newspaper/puppy pads. He gets along with other dogs, cats and kids. He is up to date on his shots and neutered. Please contact us at (909) 744-8153 or e-mail poeticstargazer@aol.com if you are interested in Carl. (6/26/08)

Puppy: Aria is a little darling. She was the first to climb out of her corral. There are many mornings when we wake up to find her curled up with our cat Hobbs. She loves to play and she plays hard with the other puppies so that when she sleeps, almost nothing can wake her up. She is a Shepherd/Lab/Terrier mix, born Feb. 23rd. She is potty trained to newspaper/puppy pads. She gets along with other dogs, cats and kids. She is up to date on her shots. Please contact us at (909) 744-8153 or e-mail
poeticstargazer@aol.com if you are interested in Aria. (6/26/08)

Puppy: Sagan loves to eat and he loves his treats. He is the one who makes sure every one of this siblings is accounted for at bedtime. He is a kisser. He is the most affectionate of all the puppies.  He is a Shepherd/Lab/Terrier mix born Feb. 23rd. He is potty trained to newspaper/puppy pads. He gets along with other dogs, cats and kids. He is up to date on his shots. Please contact us at (909) 744-8153 or e-mail
poeticstargazer@aol.com if you are interested in Sagan. (6/26/08)

Puppy: Skylar is the darnedest puppy. She has figured out how to turn on the water in the bathtub. She also loves her baths so perhaps there is a correlation. She is the first one up and loves to get the others playing. She is a Shepherd/Lab/Terrier mix, born Feb. 23rd. She is potty trained to newspaper/puppy pads. She gets along with other dogs, cats and kids. She is up to date on her shots. Please contact us at (909) 744-8153 or e-mail
poeticstargazer@aol.com if you are interested in Skylar. (6/26/08)

Kitten: Layla and her siblings were born from a feral cat in the last week of April. I have been working with the kittens and they are now ready for permanent homes. Layla is a very sweet and playful kitten. She loves to be pet, cuddled and will play with any toy you let her. She will need to go to a home with a very understanding and patient owner. Once she adapts though I think she will be a wonderful cat who will bond well with her owner. e-mail: sgjennifer@hotmail.com (6/23/08)

Kitten: I took in a stray cat who had kittens. I am now looking for homes for one kitten. You must be RESPONSIBLE. Keeping him inside and safe, getting him neutered. This is an Orange Tabby. If you are worthy of my kitten, contact MHS at (909) 337-6422 (5/30/08)

Dog: Boss is an 8 mo. old Lab mix. He weighs 35 -40 lbs. Boss is neutered and is current on his vaccines. Boss is housetrained and knows how to sit and shake. He is the only dog in the home, so we are not sure how he would be with other dogs, but he is not good with cats. He is great with kids, but sometimes he doesn't realize his own strength. He like to run so a fenced yard is a must. He is a great dog and protects the house. Once he is past his puppy stage he will make a great life-long companion. He needs someone who will be patient and give him a lot of love and attention and basic training. Pease contact Angela at 909-589-0291 or e-mail kapeesh@charter.net (5/7/08)

Cat: Billy-Bob is in need of a good, loving, safe home. This is his 2nd time in search. He was originally a rescue, and his owner had him for 3 yrs. She is ill and is out of State for an extended time, so she needs someone to adopt her baby "Billy-Bob".  He is a very good boy, he gets along with dogs and other cats and doesn't jump up on the counters or tables. Billy-Bob appears to be a Siamese/flame point mix. His true age is unknown,  but he is neutered and up to date on his vaccines. If you are interested in Billy-Bob, please contact Candy at (909) 337-0690 (4/14/08)
